Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

A modern psychotherapy, using trance techniques, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is based on solution-building, looking forwards, instead of focusing on and solving the problem(s).

Together we will explore your current resources and future hopes rather than present problems and past traumas. In fact, I actively discourage my clients to dwell on or re-live the past – the “why” is automatically taken care of in our pursuit of solutions, a positive future.

Underpinned by neuroscience, SFH incorporates the Three Ps:

• positive thinking;

• positive activity;

• positive interaction.

It is proven that the Three Ps support the uptake of our happy hormone, Serotonin.

I work in collaboration with my clients, offering a set of metaphoric tools, that help you take back control of your life. As a SFH therapist, I don’t “do” anything to you, I work with you to help you – and your mind – help yourself.

Working together, using hypnotherapy, I can help you alleviate or cope better with symptoms caused by anxiety, depression or anger.

You may recognise some of these symptoms as stress, panic attacks, self-harming, PTSD, obsessive compulsive disorder, irrational fears, excessive drinking, substance misuse, over-eating, under-eating, exam nerves, lack of confidence, poor self-esteem, poor performance in areas such as sports, music, presentations, excessive blushing, postnatal depression, insomnia – and the list goes on!

Why Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Over Other Talking Therapies?

IT’S QUICK – relatively speaking, SFH is a brief therapy. I can see clients from anywhere between 8 and 15 sessions – the length of the client journey depends on the condition being addressed, how entrenched the client is and how quickly they respond to the therapy;

NO NEED TO RE-LIVE ANY HORRORS OR TRAUMAS – SFH is just that, solution focused. Clients do not need to talk about what their problem is or go into any detail regards any trauma(s) they may have suffered. We focus on the desired positive outcome and, in doing so, the problem – or “why” – is automatically dealt with as part of the process. This is why SFH is particularly attractive and effective for sufferers of PTSD and specific phobias;
